The Ocean Of Milk
May 2024
You have been an endless procession souls
You can make peace with them all
But first, you must offer something of yourself
Do you still have the cloak of courage
You can bring flowers grown from the lifetime of wounds
Perhaps they'll accept your incense, too
Your sadness and your grief
Perhaps you can find the courage to accept them, as part of you?
If you can reach the stillness
The unchanging point as the pendulum swings
You can drink the silence
Then, maybe then, you can lay trembling
In the nakedness of your humanity
Where your tears will fall into the ocean of milk
Churning, burning, releasing all the pent-up vibrations
An ancient song of sorrow and bliss
Will they hear you?
The ancient ones you seek
Will they bestow on you
Mythical pearls of wisdom?
Will you gorge, feasting fat on them?
Hungry for your precious answers
Or will you listen with your heart?
To fall weightless into the great unknowing
Will you be bathed in the spectral light of eternal nothingness
Will you glimpse the astonishing beauty of your immortal soul?
The shrine you seek is built on the hearts of all who have yet to be born
And the countless passed, who remain among us
Lost in the ascending, descending spiral
You, Oh child of the stars
You who sheds a thousand skins
Who bathes a thousand wounds and still willingly endures more
The light sees your deeds
Of charity and shame
Of tenderness and contempt
Of bravery and cowardice
Your aversion and desire
And judges not
No score card
No guilt or absolution
Only the eternal now
All that was or will be
Can you summon your resolve in this moment?
To step off the precipice
Into the abyss of all you fear
What will it be?
Shrink back into your illusion of safety and routine
Or leap into the great unknowing
Free to fly
Free to fall
Free to soar as light itself
Much Love ❤️
